Marble Village (Baha)

The Marble Village
Baha, like Taif, is in the mountains and so also enjoys a far more favourable temperature. It also has an steep escarpment road, running into and out of tunnels on the way up and down.

Our trip was to the Marble Village, rather than to Baha itself.

Directions (from Jeddah)

  • Drive to Taif and on to Baha. You reach the Marble Village first; it is at the bottom of the escarpment, Baha is at the top.

Tips

  • We did the journey leaving Jeddah Thursday afternoon and camping Thursday night. Seeing the Marble Village in the morning and heading home via Baha Friday afternoon.

  • Don't forget a travel letter from your sponsor or the check point at the bottom of the Taif escarpment.

  • Parts of the Marble Village are in a bad state of repair, so tread very carefully.
